Welcome to Shady Meadows Gundogs, this is our brand new site featuring or field dogs and hunting dogs, that we just launched so we can provide you the best service possible. It's a work in progress so please bear with us during our construction of the site. We should be completly up and running shortly. The dogs we will have within the site are, German Shorthairs, Labrador Retrievers, English Pointers, and other unland game dogs.

Shady Meadows was carved from the woods of west central Missouri, close to the Kansas border, by my grandfather in the late 1960's and early 1970's.

Construction was completed on the log cabin that we now call home in 1977. We purchased Shady Meadows from my grandfather in 2004 and began construction of the kennel buildings to move our operation.

Our cabin overlooks a very well stocked fishing lake that provides excellent water training facilities for our German Shorthairs and Labrador Retrievers.

We also have hundreds of acres of fencerows and natural cover for upland training.  We specialize in English Pointers, German Shorthairs (GSP), and Labrador Retrievers.

Occasionally, however, we’ll have an English Setter or Brittany litter or dog for sale.  Virtually everything we breed is Championship sired out of Championship bred females.  We maintain a stock of about 20 finished Championship bred guide dogs and raise 1 litter a year out of each.

As our site grows we’ll soon have pictures of our German Shorthairs, Labrador Retrievers, English Pointers and other gun dogs, and in depth information on each of our bird dogs and when we’ll be breeding them and to who we will breed them.

On occasion, if your male is nice enough, we may be willing to do a custom breeding to one of our females for you.  We will also be adding a testimonials page where you can research for yourselves to see the quality of dogs that we offer.  Nothing less than exceeding your expectations is good enough for us.

Our goal is to provide top grade gun dogs, rather they are our German Shorthairs, English Pointer, or Labrador Retrievers, and give you exactly what you are looking for in a hunting dog or field dog.  After all, for many people, that’s a 10+ year commitment.
